Individual Coaching

A thought partner for your decisions, questions, and transitions.

CURIOSITY IS ENOUGH

You don’t have to be unhappy to want something different.

Sometimes you know something needs to change but can’t quite put your finger on it. Other times, you know exactly what you want but aren’t sure how to make it happen. Coaching can be helpful when you're:

  • Considering a change in role, company, location, or direction
  • Preparing for a difficult conversation or negotiation
  • Adjusting to your first leadership responsibilities
  • Trying to understand why you keep second-guessing yourself
  • Sorting through competing priorities from work, family, and everything else
  • Figuring out what you want when the obvious next step doesn’t feel right
The question beneath the question

What do I actually want, once I strip away everyone's expectations?

  • Promotion:Should I take it?

Am I ready to be seen?

  • Negotiation:What’s the number?

Do I believe I deserve to ask for it?

  • Leadership:Do I want this role?

Do I want what it represents?

  • Direction:Do I want a change?

    Am I running away?

Client case study

She needed to stop waiting to be chosen.

She came to me at the start of her first role after graduate school, smart, prepared, and convinced she wasn’t quite ready.

We looked at how she saw herself, what she believed about who gets ahead, and what she assumed she needed to prove before putting herself forward.

A few months later, she raised her hand for a high-visibility project her manager hadn’t thought to offer her, and got it. She didn’t get it because her capabilities had changed, but because she started to believe what she could do with them instead.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Here's what coaching looks like.

We meet regularly, in person or virtually, at a pace that works for you. Most engagements are every other week for about three months, although the timing is individual.

There is no fixed curriculum. We work with what’s happening in your career and your life, whether that’s an opportunity you’re considering, a conversation you need to have, a tough relationship at work, or a question you keep coming back to.

Over time, you get better at recognizing what truly matters to you, separating your thinking from everyone else’s, and getting enough distance to see the patterns worth changing.

Where to start?

Coaching begins with a conversation. Let's talk about what's going on and if ongoing coaching makes sense.  If it does, we'll figure out the right pace together.
